The Altamont boys varsity basketball team defeated second-seeded Cornerstone High School 61-46 in Wednesday night's 2A Area 8 tournament championship game. The win means the Knights are still undefeated in area play, which hasn't happened in almost a decade. Led by coach Richard Ford, Altamont racked up individual honors, too, with senior Robert Flynn being named tournament MVP. Flynn, fellow senior Ryan Vance, and freshman Greyson Horton earned all-tournament honors.

Senior player and Acta Diurna writer Frasier Horton, who missed the previous game due to injury but played tonight in a protective hand brace, will soon publish an in-depth look at the Knights' recent path to success. For now, the Knights will continue their noteworthy postseason run at home this Saturday.
