Thank you for allowing me to grab your attention and to get that out of my system. Though people have strong opinions about Bo Nix, I will not shy away from talking about my favorite quarterback in college football, and again, if he were there, it might have been a blowout.
Psych. The first thing you need to know about Bo Nix is that his game is bigger than the stats. Right now, the effect he has is breathtaking. He is pure power and speed rolled up in one player. His dual threat ability has saved us from two years of dozens of multiple sacks in Gus Malzahn’s terrible offensive schemes. And what have we done as an Auburn football fanbase to thank him? All I’ve heard from all you so-called Auburn fans is, “he can’t hit the side of a barn." Are you kidding me?! Do I need to remind you of how he heroically led us to an Iron Bowl win in his first freakin' season?! As a true freshman, he led an Auburn team against Mac Jones, Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, and a plethora of other future NFL players. We are this close to losing him as he doesn’t even know what school he wants to ball out for his (soon to be) Heisman season. Yes, Bo Nix will win the Heisman award in his senior year. We have a once in a lifetime player and by next year, you had better start appreciating him.
Now back to this year's Iron Bowl. Ever since Bo was benched for TJ Finley in the Georgia State game, I haven’t seen what I saw in Bo, even though he led us to a win. What he does is pretty basic stuff, so after hearing that Bo wouldn’t play in the Iron Bowl, I had extremely low expectations. And then there’s Bryce Young. Dude, why can’t we have nice things? Like, how rare is it to be up on Alabama the whole game, giving up one single field goal, and then throwing it all away? He may win the Heisman this year, but it’s a shame he won’t be even close to the greatness Bo “Bojangles” Nix is about to put up next year. In all realness though, the way he conducts an offense is amazing, and even though we shut him down for the first three quarters, his “Heisman moment” in the fourth quarter was really something to see.
Alabama took the number one seed in the College Football Playoff as they will go on to lose to Cincinnati right before we kick off the new year on December 31, while Auburn will dominate the Houston Cougars in the Birmingham Bowl on December 28.
