Altamont's newly online school newspaper, The Acta Diurna, has won top national honors in the American Scholastic Press Association’s 2021-2022 annual Newspaper Review and Contest. The Acta Diurna was one of just four schools to take a first-place award in the category of small private school student newspapers.

"We had just five students on staff and one regular contributor," said Media and Journalism teacher Dan Carsen. "This is a testament to their creativity, tenacity, and desire to tell important stories effectively and with integrity."

Altamont embraces and empowers student voices through written and visual works and provides a safe environment for student self-expression through three regular publications: The Acta Diurna, The Beacon and The Dragon.
